How To Know When To Listen And Just Pray

Just Listen...&...Talk Less

I know many of us at times have found ourselves in a situation with a friend where you would rather give them the what for than just to sit and listen. Truth is Our nature does not like to sit still and that old tongue just wants its way.

Here are a Few situations when it is better to Just listen and Talk less.

1) Many times when our friends call us with a problem they are not looking for a solution just someone to listen. JUST LISTEN...

2) If your friend asks you what you think DO NOT fall for it. They are merely asking you to judge their situation. Again DON'T DO IT...

3) When a friend stops by to see How you are doing, and you sense they are not themselves. Allow them the time to talk. You may be the only one they reach out too. Again Just Listen...

Here are a few things you can do to learn to listen more and speak less.

1) Remind yourself this is their Trial and the decisions made need to be their own.(many friendships have been lost because a friend gave the wrong advice. NO matter how helpful and sincere the friends intentions were the friendship was lost.)

2) Let them know that you will be their to listen to them whenever they need to talk. Many times a person just needs a sounding board. (You be the sounding board)

3) Finally keep it a secret and pray. You will find that for most situations. Time is the healer, What seems so Bad today, Tomorrow can only be a floating memory.

Reminder: Be the friend that you would like yours to be. We are all human and humans make mistakes. Do not be so quick to judge.

Closing: Many times the greatest friends we have are the ones who just listen to us the most. The truth is not even our best responses could be what they are needing. Allow them the time to talk and sort their own feelings out. This way the decision they come to will be their Own...and not Ours.

Come Unto Me All Ye Who Labor

These were the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and they speak loudly today more than ever as we seek comfort, courage, understanding and strength to see beyond today's fill of bad news and crushing misfortunes.

Matthew Henry (1662-1714) an English minister and Bible commentator wrote the following words concerning the words of Matthew 11:28. "Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

“Thanksgiving is a proper answer to dark and disquieting thoughts, and may be an effectual means to silence them. Songs of praise are sovereign cordials to drooping souls, and will help to cure melancholy. When we have no other answer ready to the suggestions of grief and fear, we may have recourse to this, I thank thee, O Father; let us bless God that it is not worse with us than it is.”

All of us go through tough times where it appears that all is lost, there is no way out, but wait, our Creator Father God always provides a way that leads us to victorious living through Jesus Christ, God's Son.

The following words of Jesus Christ are worth re-reading and we have included several translations of the same verses to deepen our understanding and bring comfort as we reach out and touch the hand of God, strengthening our resolve to overcome with His help; the challenges of our day.

Modern King James Version (MKJV): Matthew 11:28-30

Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest to your souls.

For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

Good News Bible (GNB) Mat 11:28-30
"Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light."

The Massage (MSG): Matthew 11:28-30

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me.

Get away with me and you'll recover your life.

I'll show you how to take a real rest.

Walk with me and work with me--watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.

Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Can You Hear The Angels?

Can You Hear The Angels?

It is early morning no one else is up, but there is a constant feeling of peace within your spirit. Guiding you to write. Letting you know the very words you must put down.

Listen.... Can You Hear The Angels?

God's Messengers of peace...at times.. Willing you on in circumstances that you have NO idea how you will get out of.

The Bible talks of Angels both in the New and Old Testament. Mighty warriors they are. Can you imagine Mary when the Angel appeared to her, or how about Baalam who knew he was disobeying God and even had his Donkey talk to him. If you are not familiar with these stories, Get your Bible out and go to the Concordance and just look up the word Angels,,,Read and see how God has used Angels many times to help us.

I will never forget the time that I was ironing in my hallway several years ago, I was babysitting at the time, and just had laid him down for his nap. I was just ironing away when I seen this little blond hair boy stretching in the doorway to my room. Wearing a little footed sleeper. I thought to myself well the baby is up, then it dawned on me. The baby is not even walking yet...Who was this child? I do not know...yet he was there as real as any other child I have ever seen.

There was another time that I was up late and had just got out of the bathroom, my mom was living with me at the time. Well I seen her walk past so I was gonna sneak in the kitchen and throw on the switch real quick. Only thing even though she just walked right in front of me,, when I through on the switch No one was there. Yet I seen a woman as plain as day walking in front of me.

Another time, I was out mowing my lawn and saw this Blond headed man just standing there watching me...He stood there for awhile and then he was gone..Like he was standing guard...I have no idea who this man was, or woman, or child. Maybe I have a family of Angels.

Yet now as I write this I can see how life has unfolded over the years. I have a little blond hair boy, My husband is blond as well. Where these messengers letting me know that better times were ahead. I have no idea. But I will never forget them either.
